Here's how to publish content directly in Google search results

Google my business

Google Posts is a new feature from Google that allows (now small) businesses to publish content directly in Google's search results. Google Posts now available to all businesses with a Google My Business account. With it, Google allows users to publish, for example, articles, promotions and events on the right side of the search engine and promote their own organization in this way.

How does Google Posts work?

Google Posts is linked to Google My Company. This is a free part of Google where you can publish information about your business. Think of information about: opening hours, location(s), photos and reviews. Recently it is also possible to add content in the form of Google Posts. We explain in four short steps how to set up this feature for your business:

1. Log in to Google My Business

2. Clickon Manage Location

3. Go to posts in the left menu or click create post in the second bar

Create Google posts

4. Click the blue button that says Create message

You can now set up the post in the way you want. It is possible to add a photo, text and different call-to-actions such as: reserve, register, order and view offer. Once you have created the post, click 'preview' to see a preview of the post. Satisfied? Then click publish at the top right of your screen.

We tested this new option immediately, of course. Below you can see what the post it will look like.

Google post example searchuser

When you search through Google for (in this case) our company name, you will see the Google Posts appear on the right side under the other company information.

In our opinion, a great addition to publish additional information about your company through the search engine.

Note: Google Posts stay online for about seven days and then they expire. So you will have to add new Google Post again at that time.
