Existing services such as Gmail, Android Studio, and Google Play also received AI features that enhance speed, usability, and efficiency.
What exactly is new?
Gemini 2.5 Pro with Deep Think
Deep Think is a new reasoning mode that allows the model to consider multiple answers before responding. This results in better performance on complex questions and is currently being tested through the Gemini API. It is not yet being widely rolled out, as Google is conducting additional safety research.
Veo 3
Veo 3 is Google's new AI video generator that can create sound effects, ambient sound, and dialogues. The video quality has significantly improved compared to Veo 2. Veo 3 is available through the Gemini chat app for subscribers of the AI Ultra plan.
Image 4
Imagen 4 is the new AI image generator. It is faster than its predecessor and supports detailed renders of materials such as fabrics, water, and animals. Images can be generated at up to 2K resolution, in various styles. There will even be a version that is up to 10 times faster than Imagen 3.
Stitch
With Stitch, you can design a UI for apps using just a few words or an image. The tool instantly generates HTML and CSS. It's convenient for developers who want to quickly create mock-ups or functional prototypes.
Project Mariner
Project Mariner allows AI to independently use websites. You no longer need to open a webshop yourself. The AI can order tickets, do grocery shopping, or perform other online actions based on your instructions.
Project Astra
Astra enables real-time interaction with AI through images, sound, and text. It will be integrated into Search, Gemini, and other products. Google is even working on glasses featuring Astra technology, in collaboration with Warby Parker and Samsung.
Gemini Live
Gemini Live will receive screen sharing and camera features on iOS and Android. You can communicate live with Gemini via voice while it analyzes your surroundings using cameras. Integrations with Google Maps, Calendar, and Tasks are also being rolled out.
Gmail, Docs, Vids, and more
Google adds smart features to Gmail such as automatic inbox cleanup and contextual replies. In Google Docs and Vids, you can use AI for text and video creation. NotebookLM receives Video Overviews, and SynthID helps detect AI content through watermarks.
Android Studio
Android Studio is getting new AI features such as crash analyses, Journeys, and Agent Mode. Developers will gain better insights into errors and faster working solutions. Wear OS 6 has also been updated with improved design and dynamic themes.
Google Play
The Play Store is getting tools for subscription management, testing environments, and a revamped checkout. There will also be themed pages for movies, series, and content recommendations.
Beam 3D conferencing
Beam is the new name for Google's 3D communication platform. Through AI and an advanced camera setup, you can see your conversation partner in lifelike 3D. The technology integrates with Google Meet and offers real-time translation while preserving voice and expression.
