Google introduces privacy tools to remove unwanted personal images.

Have you ever been unpleasantly surprised by unwanted personal photos or explicit images of yourself in Google's search results? The tech giant now offers a solution. Google has introduced new privacy tools that empower users to remove such images from search results.

This crucial update to Google's policy allows users to eliminate unwanted and explicit images of themselves from searches. This means that even if you uploaded such an image in the past and later regretted it, you can easily submit a request to have it removed from Google's search results. Additionally, the removal request forms have been simplified for better user-friendliness.

It's important to note that the policy does not affect images currently used for commercial purposes. Furthermore, websites containing personal data are also subject to this policy.

Google is adding another feature to this. Soon, a dashboard will be available, initially only in English for the U.S., where users can see which search results display their personal contact information. If your phone number or email address appears in the search results, you can quickly take action.

To enhance online safety, Google is also implementing a blurring option in SafeSearch. When explicit or graphic images appear in the results, these will be automatically blurred for users who have not activated SafeSearch. This way, users searching for the term "injury" will not immediately see graphic content.

These promising security measures were announced by Google earlier in February and have been available globally since August.
