New AI features are transforming video editing

YouTube launches AI tools for Shorts creators

YouTube announced a series of new artificial intelligence tools specifically aimed at Shorts creators during the Made on YouTube event. This development marks an important step in the automation of video content and offers businesses new opportunities for their digital marketing strategy.

The introduction of Veo 3 Fast

The video platform introduces Veo 3 Fast, a customized version of Google's text-to-video AI model Veo 3. This tool generates videos in 480p quality with lower latency and adds sound to AI-generated video clips for the first time. The functionality is initially being rolled out in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, with plans for further international expansion.

Additionally, creators can now apply motion from videos to still images, allowing, for example, a photo of a person to be animated with dance movements from another video. The technology also enables the application of various visual styles, such as pop art or origami, and the addition of objects or characters through text descriptions.

A new remix tool allows creators to convert dialogue from existing videos into musical soundtracks using Google's AI music model Lyria 2. Users can add their own atmosphere to these tracks by choosing from different moods such as "relaxed," "danceable," or "cheerful."

Business impact and commercial opportunities

For companies, these developments mean significant cost savings and efficiency gains in content production. Marketing teams can now generate video content more quickly without extensive video editing knowledge or expensive production budgets. The "Edit with AI" feature automatically transforms raw footage into finished videos by selecting the best moments, adding music, and creating transitions.
This automation particularly offers opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises that were previously constrained by production costs. E-commerce companies can create product demos more rapidly, while service-oriented businesses can more easily produce instructional videos.

Practical application possibilities

Companies can strategically deploy these tools by first experimenting with simple product presentations or company updates. The speech-to-song feature offers opportunities for creative brand activations, while the motion transfer can be interesting for fitness or lifestyle companies. The gradual rollout in different markets gives organizations the time to adjust their content strategy and train employees on these new possibilities.
