Google recently extended Performance Max to online marketplaces. This allows sellers to promote their products directly without the need for a Web site or Merchant Center. This development is especially beneficial for companies looking to boost their online sales without significant investment.

Performance Max, a service from Google, is now available to sellers on online marketplaces such as Amazon. The service allows companies to send ad campaigns directly to their product pages on third-party e-commerce platforms without having their own website or Merchant Center account.

For marketers already active in marketplaces, this expansion offers a potentially valuable addition to their Google Ads strategy. With lower costs and simplified access, small businesses with limited budgets can now benefit. The use of existing product data makes setting up ads easier and helps optimize campaigns.

Available solutions

The campaigns are fully automated and use existing product data such as images, descriptions and prices. Campaign performance reporting is done within Google Ads. Google's AI technology is used to optimize ads across channels, including Search and Shopping. Conversion tracking is performed by the marketplaces themselves. Only sales of the seller's own products are counted; purchases from other sellers do not count.

This functionality of Performance Max is currently limited to select marketplaces. Google has announced that it is working on expanding it to more platforms.
