Pinterest is introducing new AI-driven advertising tools and measurement partnerships to provide better performance and brand safety for advertisers. Pinterest is investing significantly in generative AI to create more engaged and personalized ad formats and automate campaign optimization.
Ad Labs Innovation Program
The new "Ad Labs" innovation program allows advertisers to test prototypes of new advertising tools. These tools use generative AI for enhanced creativity and interaction. Key features of Ad Labs include:
Personalized Background Generation: Creates custom lifestyle backgrounds for Product Pins, tailored to the user's aesthetic preferences.
Interactive Collage Ads: Users can cut, remix, and recompose visual elements. These collages are made shoppable, allowing users to discover and buy products instantly.
Impact on businesses and advertisers
The AI-driven updates promise higher performance, better personalization and efficiency, and improved brand safety. Collaboration with measurement companies such as IAS and DoubleVerify ensures the security of brand impressions.
Pinterest Performance+
Pinterest Performance+, now in closed beta, is showing promising results. Early testing shows more than a 10% improvement in cost per acquisition for conversion campaigns and a 50% reduction in campaign setup time thanks to automated input.
Improved brand safety
Pinterest's commitment to brand safety is evidenced by partnerships with IAS and DoubleVerify. 99% of measured ad impressions were rated as brand safe. While collage ads are currently limited to brands like Nike and Wayfair, more advertisers are expected to get access to these innovative tools in the near future.
