Wondering where best to invest your ad dollars to capture the attention of the younger generation? New research shows that YouTube is the platform to be on, especially if you want to reach the Gen Z audience.

According to recent research by Precise TV and Giraffe Insights, 6 in 10 Gen Z teens watch YouTube ads rather than skip them. Nearly half of these teens can even recall an ad they saw on the platform. This comes after news that YouTube has reported a 4.4% increase in ad revenue for the second quarter of 2023.

For brands looking to connect with Gen Z, people born between 1997 and 2012, this suggests it is time to abandon traditional TV ads and focus on YouTube. Not only is the platform popular among teens for video content, but it also appears to have a strong influence on brand recognition and buying behavior.

Denis Crushell, Chief Commercial Officer at Precise TV, explains that these insights have already convinced many of their ad partners to shift their budgets from traditional TV to YouTube. This shift provides better targeting and performance, and is fully compliant with COPPA regulations. So if you are still hesitant about where to target your ad spend, especially if you want to appeal to a younger audience, now is the time to seriously consider YouTube as your main video advertising channel.
