Imagine a world where you send social media messages, make payments, and more, all within the same app. Elon Musk is bringing this future to us with the announcement of his plans to rebrand Twitter to "X," a "super app" modeled after China's WeChat.

The iconic Twitter brand name and logo will be replaced with "X," reflecting Elon Musk's vision to create an all-encompassing app where users can send messages, make payments and more. This was revealed shortly after Musk took over the company, and the parent company of the social media platform has also been renamed X Corp, a wholly owned subsidiary of X Holdings Corp. which is also owned by Musk.

Leading up to the big reveal, Musk has excited the world with teasers about the new logo, a bright glowing "X. The change marks an end to the era of the blue Twitter bird, which had previously been temporarily replaced by Dogecoin's Shiba Inu dog, resulting in a sharp rise in the meme coin's value.

This transformation is the realization of Musk's vision to make Twitter a platform equal to China's "super app," WeChat, which allows users to communicate, make payments and more.

This change comes at a time of increasing competitive sentiment on social media with the recent launch of Threads, an Instagram-like competitor to Twitter. Although Threads saw an incredible 100 million signups in one week, recent reports suggest that engagement on the new platform has dropped significantly. The launch of "X" could drastically change the rules of the game in social media.
