Roku and Shopify have joined forces in a first. They are enabling users to purchase products from Shopify merchants directly from their television via Roku Action Ads. By simply pressing "OK" on their Roku remote, viewers can learn more about a product and purchase it directly. Roku Pay data is used to automatically populate payment and shipping details, allowing the order to be placed at the touch of a button.

Shopify is the latest partner to leverage Roku Action Ads, adding seamless checkout to streaming ads. Other retail and commerce partners leveraging Roku Action Ads include Walmart and DoorDash.

This partnership is the first streaming commerce integration for independent Shopify merchants. It creates an entirely new advertising channel for these businesses. Beginning brand partners include menswear brand True Classic, game-based connected rowing machine Ergatta and wellness brand Olly.

What's unique about this experience is that marketers can shorten the ad funnel from brand awareness to purchase on the biggest screen in the house. The partnership builds on Roku's existing relationship with Shopify, which supports ad campaign attribution through Roku's verified identity. Now, in addition to measurements, advertisers will receive more customer data, insight into purchase trends and point-of-sale access to Roku's audience.

Shopify's mission is to make commerce better for everyone. Partnering with Roku to make Shopify Checkout available through new channels will make it easier for more brands to drive deeper engagement with shoppers and reach new audiences.
