Imagine a world where Apple dominates not only your smartphone and computer, but also the AI space. A new report reveals that Apple is developing its own AI chatbot, an outright challenger to OpenAI, Google and others. Apple's ChatGPT-like tool, internally called "Apple GPT," is being tested and could turn the world of artificial intelligence on its head.

The news, brought by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, indicates that Apple has developed an AI chatbot, currently in the testing phase. Apple GPT was developed in-house using a framework called "Ajax." This AI technology is built on Google Cloud and Google JAX, Google's machine learning framework.

It is important to note that implementation of this chatbot was put on hold internally for a while due to concerns about the security of generative AI. Nevertheless, the chatbot is now being used more widely among Apple employees, although special permission is required for access.

This could have a significant impact on businesses and organizations, as it introduces a new competitor into the AI space. Apple has always been a technology pioneer, and their move into AI may represent a shift in market dynamics.

Although it is not the first to offer generative AI products to the public, Apple is now on the hunt for generative AI talent. The company is looking for engineers with a robust understanding of large language models and generative AI, suggesting that Apple is serious about expanding its AI offerings.

While companies such as Google, Microsoft and Meta have already launched generative AI products, Apple has been somewhat hesitant. However, with the development of their new chatbot, used for product prototyping and answering questions based on trained data, it looks like Apple is ready to change the game.

Despite the fact that Apple's chatbot is similar to Bard, ChatGPT and Bing AI, and has no additional features that set it apart from currently commercially available products, Apple's reputation for innovation and quality could give them an edge in the battle for AI dominance.

Apple also highlights their focus on addressing potential privacy issues related to AI, a concern currently high on the technology landscape. Apple CEO Tim Cook has indicated that they will add AI to their products, but with consideration and respect for privacy.
